VIENTIANE, July 2 (Xinhua) -- High-ranking officials from Laos and Vietnam convened in southern Laos' Champasak province for the 30th meeting of special task forces of both governments to discuss ongoing efforts to strengthen a special friendship between the two nations.
The meeting took place on Wednesday and was attended by Lao Deputy Minister of National Defense Thongloy Silivong and Vietnamese Deputy Minister of National Defense Vo Minh Luong, the Lao People's Army News reported on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of effectively implementing a joint cooperation framework.
