Vietnam posts 9.7 bln USD trade surplus in first 7 months

HANOI, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam recorded a trade surplus of 9.7 billion U.S. dollars in the first seven months of 2025, according to data released by the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade on Monday.

The country's export turnover was estimated at 261.8 billion dollars, marking a 14.6 percent year-on-year increase and surpassing the annual export growth targets.

Imports during the same period rose 17.9 percent to 252.1 billion dollars, driven by rising demand for raw materials used in export production.

The average monthly export value stood at 37.4 billion dollars, with July alone reaching a record-high estimate of over 41.6 billion dollars.
