HANOI, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's capital Hanoi plans to establish six to eight key night economy zones and 15 to 20 spaces and streets operating after midnight by 2035 under a newly approved night economy development project, local media Voice of Vietnam reported Tuesday.
By 2035, the night economy is expected to become a major driver of Hanoi's urban economy, contributing around 7 to 8 percent of the city's gross regional domestic product.
Under the project, the night economy will be managed under a smart urban model, with 80 to 90 percent of transactions conducted via cashless payments, while all key areas will be equipped with security surveillance systems and digital infrastructure.
By 2045, Hanoi aims to attract 8 to 10 million international visitors annually to night activities, the report said.
