Vietnam's market surveillance force uncovers over 23,000 violations in 2025

HANOI, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's market surveillance force uncovered more than 23,000 violations in 2025, local daily An Ninh Thu Do reported Wednesday, citing the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

According to the ministry's Agency for Domestic Market Surveillance and Development, market surveillance units nationwide inspected 27,540 cases during the year and detected 23,402 violations.

Total fines and the value of confiscated goods remitted to the state budget reached nearly 372 billion Vietnamese dong (about 14.1 million U.S. dollars).

The total value of infringing goods was estimated at nearly 290 billion Vietnamese dong (about 11.1 million dollars), down 31.76 percent year on year.

The violations mainly involved trading in goods of unclear origin, counterfeit products and goods infringing intellectual property rights, as well as breaches of regulations on pricing, business conditions and food safety.
