HANOI, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Damage to road infrastructure caused by Typhoon Bualoi and subsequent flooding in Vietnam is estimated at about 982.83 billion Vietnamese dong (about 37.2 million U.S. dollars), local daily Nhan Dan reported Tuesday.
Most of the damage was reported on roads managed by local authorities, the report said, citing the Department for Roads of Vietnam.
The national road network recorded over 370 locations suffering from traffic disruptions due to flooding and roadbed or slope landslides, local daily Suc Khoe & Doi Song reported.
The heaviest infrastructure damage occurred in central and northern provinces, with losses estimated at about 600 billion Vietnamese dong (about 22.7 million dollars) in Thanh Hoa province, 132.6 billion Vietnamese dong (about 5 million dollars) in Nghe An province and 130 billion Vietnamese dong (about 4.9 million dollars) in Cao Bang province.
Many roads in these areas remain affected by landslides and localized flooding, the report said.
