Exhibition kicks off to celebrate 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day

HANOI, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- A major exhibition in Hanoi showcasing national achievements to mark the 80th anniversary of the National Day kicked off on Thursday, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

Themed "80-Year Journey of Independence -- Freedom -- Happiness," the exhibition is being held at the Vietnam Exhibition Center. General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam attended the opening ceremony.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, addressing the opening ceremony, noted that the exhibition showcases the achievements of nearly 180 industries and sectors through documents, artifacts, machinery, equipment, films, and reports, reflecting Vietnam's accomplishments over the past eight decades.

The exhibition will remain open to the public until Sept. 5.
