HANOI, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed in flash flooding in central Vietnam's Thanh Hoa province on Wednesday afternoon, Vietnam News Agency reported Thursday.
Rescue forces recovered one body about 500 meters downstream, while search operations for the other person are continuing amid difficult weather conditions, the state-owned media added.
Authorities said heavy rainfall had caused sudden surges in local streams, warning residents to exercise caution when traveling in flood-prone areas, the report said.
