Charter capital of Vietnamese banks increases 15 pct in 2024

HANOI, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- The total charter capital of 28 banks in Vietnam hit 823.52 trillion Vietnamese dong (33 billion U.S. dollars) as of Dec. 31, 2024, an increase of 15.23 percent compared to the end of 2023, Vietnam News reported Monday.

Of the 28 banks, 16 had a charter capital of more than 1 billion dollars, one more than in 2023, according to the banks' financial reports.

Up to 20 out of the 28 commercial banks increased their charter capital in 2024. NCB and Techcombank recorded the strongest growth in charter capital compared to 2023, at 110 percent and 100 percent, respectively.
