Dozens of people were killed after a fire broke out in an apartment in Hanoi, Vietnam, the official Vietnam News Agency reported on Wednesday.

As of 5 a.m. local time Wednesday, relevant authorities had rescued some 70 people and sent 54 others to hospital, including dozens of dead, according to the report.

The fire started just before midnight on Tuesday (1700 GMT) in the parking floor of the 10-story building, witnesses said, an area packed with residents' motorbikes.
